Healthy Chicken Shawarma Wraps

Marinated shawarma-spiced chicken with yogurt garlic sauce and fresh salad in wholemeal wraps.

Steps

Mix 500g chicken breast or thighs with 1 tbsp olive oil, juice of 1 lemon, 2 tsp cumin, 2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp coriander, ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp black pepper, and 1 tsp salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight is even better).

Cook the chicken in a hot pan or air fryer until cooked through and slightly charred.

Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice.

Mix 150g Greek yogurt, 1 grated garlic clove, juice of ½ lemon, and a pinch of salt.

Fill wholemeal wraps with lettuce, red onion, tomato, cucumber, optional pickled red onion or pickled cucumber, sliced chicken, and the yogurt sauce.
